Petition to Prevent the Closure of Stephen F. Austin STEM Academy

We, the undersigned, are concerned parents, students, teachers, and community members advocating to keep Stephen F. Austin STEM Academy open. This elementary school is an invaluable asset to our children and our community. Its closure would have a significant negative impact on students’ education and future opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Why Stephen F. Austin STEM Academy Must Stay Open

1. Educational Excellence
   Stephen F. Austin STEM Academy provides a unique, hands-on STEM curriculum that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. The school’s specialized learning environment helps students excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—fields that are vital to their future success. Closing this institution would deprive students of an essential opportunity to develop skills needed in a technology-driven world.

Displacing students to other schools would create undue hardship for many families who rely on the specialized education provided here.

Our Request

We urge the Brazosport ISD Board of Trustees and the Education Commissioner to reconsider the decision to close Stephen F. Austin STEM Academy. We request that alternative solutions be explored to keep this vital institution open for the benefit of our children and our community.
